Important: CaseBrief collects health information on behalf of your healthcare provider. That information is passed directly to your provider and is not stored by CaseBrief after delivery. It is deleted once transmitted.
CaseBrief is a New Zealand-based service that provides pre-consultation patient intake for general practice clinics. CaseBrief operates at www.casebrief.co.nz.
CaseBrief acts as a service provider to healthcare clinics. When you complete a CaseBrief intake, the clinic that invited you to do so is the primary collector of your health information. CaseBrief facilitates and transmits that information on their behalf.

You are not required to answer every question. You may decline to provide any information you are not comfortable sharing. Incomplete responses will still be forwarded to your clinic.

Your information is collected on behalf of your healthcare provider. CaseBrief does not use your health information for any purpose beyond delivering it to your provider.
Once you complete the intake:
CaseBrief does not retain your health information after it has been transmitted to your healthcare provider. Once the brief has been delivered, your responses are permanently deleted from CaseBrief systems. We do not store, archive, or retain patient health information.
Once your information has been delivered to your clinic, it becomes part of your healthcare provider's records. Any rights regarding that information — including access, correction, or deletion — should be directed to your clinic.

Health information is a special category of personal information under New Zealand law and is subject to additional protections under the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
CaseBrief treats all health information with the highest standard of care. We collect only the information necessary for the purpose of preparing your clinical brief, transmit it securely to your provider, and delete it immediately after delivery.
CaseBrief does not make clinical decisions. The brief generated is a structured summary of your responses — it is not a diagnosis, clinical assessment, or medical advice. All clinical decisions remain with your healthcare provider.
When you visit www.casebrief.co.nz, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This information is used only for the operation and security of the website and is not linked to any personal identity.
This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics services that collect personal information.
If you submit a demo request via the contact form on this website, your name, practice name, email, and any message you provide will be sent to CaseBrief for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. This information is not health information and is handled under our standard business communications practices.
The CaseBrief intake service is provided to patients at the invitation of their healthcare provider. It is intended for use by individuals completing a pre-consultation intake for an upcoming appointment at a participating clinic.
By completing a CaseBrief intake, you consent to your responses being processed and transmitted to your healthcare provider as described in this document.
CaseBrief is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The intake service is an administrative and communication tool. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 111 immediately.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information in your intake. CaseBrief is not liable for outcomes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete responses.
Healthcare clinics that use CaseBrief are responsible for ensuring the service is used appropriately within their practice, including determining which patients are suitable to receive an intake invitation.
The CaseBrief name, logo, software, and website content are the intellectual property of CaseBrief. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use these without written permission.
CaseBrief provides this service in good faith. To the extent permitted by law, CaseBrief is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the service, including any delay, error, or interruption in transmission of information to a healthcare provider.
